Managed service provider, Hostworks, has cemented a new multi-million dollar contract with Australian foodservice organisation, Compass, to provide application hosting to its 600 sites.
Under the new three-year agreement, Hostworks will refresh and extend the capabilities of its existing business-critical application hosting and support services to Compass, and update the company's IT infrastructure.
The renewed contract covered most of Compass's entire IT environment, including its website, recipe database, logistics, email services, payroll systems and HR. This included its Oracle Financials Solution.
Hostworks managing director, Marty Gauvin, said the two organisations had been working together for the past four years. The relationship stemmed from its acquisition of Interpath Australia in 2001.
"Compass is a very decentralised organisation," he said. "We administrate some of their applications while others require us to provide services as well. We have been able to deploy and fully replicate their IT environment to operate with high service levels and disaster recovery capabilities.
"We have also enhanced the performance of their applications, as well as the usage of load and the data volumes they are processing."
Hostworks also helped Compass to evaluate and replace its ageing Sun and HDS platform with upgraded Sun infrastructure.
Gauvin said the Compass deal was one of its most significant contracts.
