120 per cent y-o-y growth for Australian hosted subscription CRM market

Sydney, Australia – November 24, 2005 - Global growth consulting company, Frost & Sullivan recently released its second comprehensive study of the Australian and New Zealand Hosted CRM markets. The study found that Australian hosted subscription CRM market is set to exceed A$13 million for the full year 2005, a growth rate of over 120 per cent from 2004. Furthermore, the report predicts the market is set to continue to boom, growing at a compound annual rate of 40 per cent per annum to 2009.

“In 2009, the Australian market should exceed A$50 million and will be greater than a third of all CRM industry revenues, both on-premise and hosted” says Foad Fadaghi, research director, ICT practice Frost & Sullivan.

The report found that by the end of 2005, there would be over 10,000 hosted CRM seats deployed in Australia and over 800 in New Zealand.

Hosted CRM now has solid traction in the ANZ market place and vendors are increasingly invited to pitch along with traditional players.

The biggest share of seats is with companies in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) verticals, followed by finance and professional services businesses.

Hosted offerings are increasingly assessed as a try-before-we-commit route - particularly by SMEs. While 5 - 30 seats remains the hosted ‘sweet spot’, deals with large numbers of seats (100+) are becoming more common across all vendors.

Increased maturity of the hosted market and e-business awareness in general have lowered fears about ownership and security, while more sophisticated offerings are addressing customisation and ecosystem requirements.

The main players in the market are Salesforce.com, NetSuite, Siebel onDemand and Sagecrm.com.

Frost & Sullivan’s report on the Australian and New Zealand Hosted CRM market also provides comprehensive forecasts, segmentation, pricing trends, vendor revenue and share estimates, end-user trends/preferences, analyst commentary and detailed industry growth strategies.
