BenQ Group chairman sees 2006 revenue at NT$550 billion

BenQ's chairman forecast the company and affiliates will see revenue of up to NT$550 billion in 2006.

The chairman of Taiwan's BenQ group forecast that revenue for its entire group will reach $NT500 billion ($US15 billion) and could be as high as $NT550 billion next year, according to a company representative.

The BenQ group includes Taiwanese electronics maker BenQ as well as AU Optronics, the world's third largest maker of liquid crystal display (LCD) screens, and the newly formed BenQ Mobile GmbH., which was formed from the takeover of Siemens AG's mobile phone division.

Revenues for the group would rise due to strong pricing for LCD panels as well as the addition of revenue from the mobile phone business formerly owned by Siemens AG, said K.Y. Lee, chairman of both BenQ and AU Optronics. A representative from BenQ confirmed the statement.
