NSC Group has become the first Australian reseller for Chinese network provider, Huawei's line of routers, switches and network infrastructure.
As a key player in China and the world's telecom market, Huawei accumulated sales worth $8 billion in 2004.
NSC was appointed as the preferred partner for the Huawei products by its Australian distributor, Downer Engineering. NSC managing director, Craig Neil, was excited about the partnership.
"This is great news for the telephony market," Neil said. "Huawei's introduction will increase competition, lower prices and make for a healthier marketplace."
The Australian owned and operated IP telephony service integrator will distribute Huawei's entire range of products to its customer base of mid to high end corporate and government institutions.
Neil said that Huawei's network infrastructure would complement NSC's portfolio of products and allow the company to offer complete end-to-end IP solutions.
"There are some unique switching capabilities that only Huawei has," he said.
Neil said that although NSC is the first appointed reseller, it would not be the last.
"There is no doubt that Huawei will be appointing more partners around Australia in the coming months," he said.
"At the moment, the market is dominated by Cisco, but Huawei will change all that."
