Pointsec looks to ADI to secure government sales

Data encryption company Pointsec Mobile Technologies Australia is looking to secure significant Government defence contracts with the signing of reseller ADI Limited.

The Swedish-based company set up an office in Australia last August, appointing Oscar Moren as its managing director.

"We had so many enquiries from the government sector that it made sense to set an office," said Moren of the decision to establish in Australia.

Initially, the company had enlisted Canberra-based Lightsource Technologies to reach into the Australian corporate and government sector.

ADI now joins the ranks to bolster its government penetration.

Moren said teaming up with ADI, a large Australian defence contractor, was a "step in the right direction"

Pointsec develops products that provide software encryption on all mobile data products such as notebooks and PDAs. Something which he said had high appeal in the defence industries.

Earlier this month the company's Pointsec for PC product received approval by the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) for use in Australian and New Zealand government systems.

Globally Pointsec has an OEM partnership with Entrust, and a reseller agreement with Hewlett-Packard.
