Networking integrator, NetStar, has won a $500,000 tender with NSW-based Wodonga TAFE to upgrade its PABX telephony system with a Nortel IP PBX. It would be responsible for the integration of the data network and services that would connect more than 400 staff and students, senior account manager, Hayden Dunne, said.
"We have been trying to push further into the TAFE sector and we have seen a significant amount of business in that market," he said. "This project is an integral platform for us to go forward and build on that success."
The Nortel IP telephony solution was compatible with other systems and offered additional services including instant messaging, file sharing and video conferencing, Nortel Asia-Pacific chief convergence architect, Mick Regan, said.
The system will be completely implemented by the end of October.
