Managed IT service provider NewLease has added Trend Micro's antivirus and Internet content security software to its growing list of pay-as-you-go services.
NewLease already offers users Microsoft Office System 2003 and Exchange services by the month.
Trend Micro's local managing director, Chris Poulos, said the partnership with NewLease is an important step "in being able to reach the broader SMB community".
He says these business can now access same levels of services that is typically realized by enterprises.
"NewLease will work with Trend Micro to build offerings that keep networks free of viruses, worms, spyware and spam - by the month," said NewLease CEO Mike Clarke.
The partnership with Trend Micro consists of three products - Trend Micro NeatSuite; OfficeScan and ScanMail for Exchange, a product which guards against viruses, Trojans, worms, and other malicious code hidden in email attachments.
Trend Micro now joins Microsoft as a major partner of NewLease.
NewLease already has a strong working relationship with Microsoft. Earlier in the year the software giant appointed NewLease as its first Australian reseller to help seek out and recruit hosting service providers operating without a Service Providing Licensing Agreement (SPLA).
Many hosting companies were unaware that providing hosting services on a commercial basis required an SPLA, according to Microsoft.
Under the deal NewLease resells the hosting licenses to managed services providers on a monthly basis.
Aside from software, NewLease provides a communications service and hardware leasing where workstations, laptops and servers are provided to customers on a monthly basis.
