VoIP provider offers free international calls at Home Entertainment Show

Broadband phone company, engin will be showcasing its range of VoIP systems by offering free international calls at this week's National Home Entertainment Show.

engin exhibited its portfolio of products at the inaugural National Home Entertainment Show last year and plan to better its previous efforts with a bolder statement said Engin marketing operations manager, Naomi England.

England said that last year's event was very positive and generated a lot of traffic for the company.

"We're looking to up the ante from last year," she quipped.

This year engin is providing attendees with free international calls to anywhere in the world.

Users will be able to make international calls on engin's Voicebox series 1 and 2.

The broadband phone company is hoping to show attendees how easy VoIP technology is to deploy and use said England.

She said Engin's exhibition is focused on dispelling misconceptions held towards broadband telephony.

"This year it's we're going for more of an educational show," England said. "Logistically it's a nightmare for us to sell the product ourselves so we're leaving it our resellers who are also at the show."

Residential VoIP calls are on the increase as more and more services providers offer VoIP calls in light of Australia's take up of home broadband connections.

For instance, in September, Cardcall the Phone Card division of Broadband and VoIP provider Telecorp said it clocked up 1 billion minutes in voice traffic in the 12 months previous.

The National Home Entertainment Show is being held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour, November 4-6.

The National Home Entertainment Show is presented by IDG, publisher of this site.
