Intentia’s Opportunity Analyzer Receives Positive Feedback From Supply-Chain Council’s Chief Analyst

Targeting Software Enables Manufacturers to Calculate ROI of IT Investments Before Implementation

Intentia, the global enterprise solutions provider for the manufacturing, distribution and maintenance industries, has announced that its Opportunity Analyzer (OA), a targeting software within Intentia’s Enterprise Performance Management suite, has received positive feedback from Supply-Chain Council’s (SCC) Chief Analyst, Enrico Camerinelli.

The SCC ( is a global, non-profit organization that supports the development of next-generation supply chain technology and processes, including the Supply-Chain Operations Reference-model (SCOR).

Opportunity Analyzer helps organizations implement the most effective IT strategies to achieve business goals – both financial and non-financial. It does this by making a company focus on the internal processes that drive profitability, then identifying the most strategic way to improve them. OA then advances the implementation by forcing management to set time-phased quantifiable goals that will determine success.

“Opportunity Analyzer is the closest thing I have seen to a real ROI model in the sense that it is an opportunity evaluation solution rather than a ‘promising’ tool,” said Enrico Camerinelli, Chief Analyst and European Director for the SCC. “It incorporates best practices into the application in a different and more valuable way to prove the value of an enterprise IT solution.”

The SCC’s Chief Analyst identified additional features of Intentia’s Opportunity Analyzer beneficial to users, including its ability to communicate the impact of IT and business decisions in terms that are familiar to a business executive. Senior management is often approached with technically-slanted solutions that do not convey benefits in a way that is understandable to decision-makers. Camerinelli also commented on OA’s ability to connect a business improvement opportunity with a readily available software application, eliminating any roadblocks to immediate action. Lastly, of particular interest to Camerinelli was OA’s use of SCOR® metrics and best practices that are used to set project goals.

“Organizations no longer need to question which strategies will increase profitability or if an IT investment will contribute to business objectives. Opportunity Analyzer is a single, comprehensive solution for enterprise wide change management,” said Ulf Casten Carlberg, Director of Enterprise Performance Management, Intentia. “By putting management in control and letting bottom-line benefits drive initiatives, OA dramatically improves the probability that IT projects will succeed.”

Currently, Intentia has OA customers in every region of operation including the United States, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Scandinavia.

OA can be used during annual planning or before any significant capital expenditure, such as a product upgrade or new implementation. A comprehensive business review is typically finalized within four to six weeks, and the tool can be used with any enterprise system such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
