German IP surveillance vendor, Mobotix, is trawling for resellers and systems integrators after deciding to open a local office. Its A/NZ manager, Graham Wheeler, said the hunt was on for partners to help tackle demand in an exploding IP video market.
The company develops and manufactures professional network cameras for security systems, production monitoring and Internet applications. The worldwide install base is 45,000 cameras. Initially, it would look to partner with systems integrators from the IT sector, followed by communications integrators and dealers with a focus on security or process automation, according to Wheeler.
"The main impetus for opening the office in Australia is to develop a reseller channel," he said.
Wheeler said the IP video space offered advantages over traditional analogue video technology as well as conventional Web cams. These included high image quality, a fully browser-based system and scalability.
Resellers would be able to peddle a host of cameras including Web, IT, security, night and fixed dome models.
"All products are camera recording systems whether internal, external or dome cameras," Wheeler said. "Application specific software packages will be released to vertical markets to aid resellers in adding value to their solutions."
