Dovetail Distribution has launched a new program to help improve the marketing finesse of its resellers.
MarketMate will offer services around the design, development and implementation of marketing materials and campaigns, co-hosting of seminars and training, product positioning and market development funds.
According to sales and marketing director, John Poulter, the program was a response to the need of greater marketing assistance within the reseller community.
"Most resellers are small companies with less than 10 staff, so they often don't have an internal marketing department or the time to concentrate on that aspect of the business," he said. "We can offer our marketing department as an extension of their own."
This could include devoting staff for joint roadshows, creating direct marketing campaigns or providing a business development manager to help a reseller close a sale, Poulter said.
The new service would complement the company's online store, launched in September as a way to cut back administration costs and improve the speed of service to resellers, Poulter said.
"It's been a long build up to this, but we're hoping the extra marketing will lift reseller sales, which will in turn lift our sales," he said. "We think we could get up to 50 per cent sales growth over the next year as a result of this."
With service and support the only remaining pieces of the puzzle to put in place, Dovetail would look to launch additional services early next year, Poulter said.
"We are currently running informal technical and sales training sessions once a month," he said.
"But we are also seeing demand on the end-user side for more training because the technology is changing so fast."
