Hardware distributor, TodayTech, has broadened its vendor ranks with the addition of motherboard and components manufacturer, Foxconn.
TodayTech managing director, Jack Zhong, said the agreement was part of Foxconn's plans to gain a larger market share in Australia.
It also allowed the distributor to broaden its product portfolio, he said.
The partnership follows TodayTech's appointment as a Samsung distributor in August.
"With the Foxconn deal we are bringing more products into our stall," he said. "We will have another alternative for dealers."
The distributor is carrying Foxconn's desktop PC and server motherboards, chassis and cooling systems.
Zhong said it also planned to use the vendor's components in its own pre-built systems. It would also assist with support and warranty conditions.
TodayTech would target its existing reseller base, with a particular focus on systems integrators and whitebox builders, he said.
Foxconn also distributes locally through Altech Computers, Also Technology and Legend Corporation.
Its global marketing manager of channels, Christin Wang, said TodayTech would not be replacing any of its existing partners.
The vendor had chosen to appoint TodayTech to build up its Australian channel business, she said.
"We recognise TodayTech's well established product line, service and logistics capability in Australia will be a perfect match, so that's the reason we have teamed up," Wang said. "We see them as an alternate option for existing customers and also a way to attract new customers."
