Intentia Application Suite Optimized for IBM Platforms

 • 24 October, 2005 10:26

October 2005 - Intentia, the global enterprise solutions provider for the manufacturing, distribution and maintenance industries, announced today that is has been approved as a member of IBM's ServerProven® and StorageProven(TM) programs. With this certification, Intentia customers are assured that Intentia Application Suite is fully compatible with IBM server and storage solutions. This holds true for the current version of Intentia Application Suite, as well as for future upgrades made available from Intentia.

IBM has validated that Intentia enterprise applications are optimally configured on IBM servers to offer good price performance, low risk and scalability to grow with business needs. Approximately 3,000 Intentia customers run its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions on an IBM platform.

As a Total StorageProven (TSP) member, Intentia is able to pre-configure solutions to effectively collaborate with IBM databases with little to no customization needed. This allows customers to take full advantage of IBM storage capabilities, including increased data integrity, scalability within the database and virtualized storage in both a centralized and decentralized environment.

"When Intentia was founded in 1984, the company established a commitment to open standards to provide customers with the most advanced platform available for composite application development and a foundation for service-oriented architecture," said Lars Wettergren, product director of technology and platforms at Intentia. "IBM is an ideal partner to fulfill this mission, with middleware, databases and servers that are built on open standards."

Intentia has partnered with IBM for more than 20 years, creating Java-based enterprise solutions that are tailored for IBM technology. As an IBM business partner, Intentia is able to offer customers special pricing on IBM servers and storage solutions.

The partnership also helps increase the visibility of Intentia Application Suite. IBM users can search a global directory of ServerProven and TSP solutions online at This helps organizations interested in ERP or supply chain applications to immediately identify Intentia as a compatible solution that promises a low-risk implementation.

Intentia Application Suite is comprised of eight Intentia application areas, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Management (ENM), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Workplace Management (WPM), Value Chain Collaboration (VCC), and Foundation and Tools (FTO).
