Symbol has hit the reseller recruitment trail in an attempt to build recognition of its enterprise wireless offerings. The mobility vendor is seeking VARs to help break out of its traditional retail niche into the wider corporate, health and government markets.
"Historically we haven't done a strong job in marketing our wireless LAN products," A/NZ channels director, Vincent Chiappazzo, said.
To address this, the company was seeking a select number of wireless LAN-focused resellers outside its core NSW and Victorian markets, wireless infrastructure and mobility software vice-president and general manager, Anthony Bartolo, said.
"Current partners come more from the supply chain and mobile device end of the market rather than the traditional networking or wireless LAN side," he said.
The push would be headed by the vendor's WS5100 and WS2000 wireless switching offerings, Bartolo said. It was offering a range of incentives including accreditation, technical support and help in building solutions around software platforms from Microsoft, SAP and Oracle.
