Queensland-based reseller, Colmac, is celebrating after securing a $400,000 deal with the Heritage Building Society. It beat off competition from several multinational vendors including Dell and HP with Data#3."We only have a team of seven, so to win this type of deal against such vendors is quite an achievement," Colmac managing director, Greg Mckeon, said, "It's our biggest contract in 10 years."
Over the next seven weeks, Colmac will install 270 keyboard-based Optima systems with LCD screens. It will also assist with setting up a cashiering system, training the helpdesk in diagnostic skills, maintaining all current passbook printers and removing old equipment from branch offices.
Colmac has been dealing with the society for 14 years and previously installed the system being replaced.
Local PC vendor, Optima, helped Colmac pitch for the deal and customised its computers to include additional communications cards and a platform image supplied by the society. The company was recently named Optima's Most Improved Business Partner of the Year because it achieved considerable sales growth and service delivery during the previous financial year.
