Mio Technology Aggressively Targets Australian GPS Market

<p>SYDNEY 26th September 2005: Mio Technology has officially launched its entire product range into the Australian market, including its two newest products – the Mio 268 and Mio 169.</p>
<p>After successfully launching the world’s first Pocket PC with built-in GPS capabilities—the Mio168 – in 2004 Mio Technology has become of the leading brands worldwide, including number one in Korea and Taiwan. Following its entry into the Australian market in 2004, the company will be aggressively focusing on the GPS part of its business.</p>
<p>Mr Rick Liao, Mio Technology Marketing Manager Asia Pacific Marketing Department, said:</p>
<p>“The market for mobile GPS in Australia is significant, especially considering the high proportion of car ownership. There are over 13 million cars in Australia, roughly 6.6 for every ten people.</p>
<p>“We are therefore extremely confident of strong sales in the Australian market”, he said.</p>
<p>Mio Technology will be offering a full suite of products catering to the entire market and all price points through Synnex.

From the high-end yet mid-range priced Mio 269+ to the latest Mio 169 GPS plus PDA, the Mio DigiWalker GPS product series offering wireless PDA, smart phone and other handheld digital products, shall continue its tradition in offering the mobile computing market with more advanced, functional and innovative products in Australia.
Mio Technology products will be available from Harvey Norman, JB HiFi and Domayne.</p>
