US-based security vendor, nCircle, is building a local channel after its recent arrival on these shores.
Lightsource Technologies of Canberra and K Solutions (part of KPMG) had become resellers and other appointments would follow, nCircle ANZ sales manager, David Lundquist, said.
"We are also in discussions with some specialist security distributors and will make an announcement within a few weeks," he said. Lundquist joined the company three months ago to build a channel around nCircle's nAble Partner Program.
"We are looking for frontline partners that can do first and second level support by being trained, as well as being able to do infrastructure and services," he said. "We don't just want box droppers."
Its flagship IP360i appliance enables vulnerabilities to be detected on enterprise networks.
Local reseller, Lightsource, plans to build service revenues around the appliance's reporting capabilities, according to manager of operations, Norbert Burmester.
"It gives us the ability to assess environments and to report on vulnerabilities," he said. "From there we can offer services to fix them."
nCircle's Lindquist said demand was being driven by security and compliance demands.
"We want to alert the channel that compliance could be the next Y2K," he said.
