AirTight Networks has signed five resellers for its range of Wi-Fi intrusion prevention system (IPS) products as part of plans to establish a foothold in the Australian market.
ASI Solutions, StarTech Communications, Dycom, LANLink and Advanced Vision Technology have been appointed as local launch partners for the products.
Airtight sales director, John Humphries, said it was also holding discussions with other potential resellers.
The company recently opened an office in Sydney, which will make it easier to support its channel partners.
AirTight plans to educate resellers and end-users about its products but also about broader wireless security issues. "One thing we have discovered is that there are a range of security issues," Humphries said. "Even though users may have a firewall, it doesn't address the concerns that others can access people's security through wireless networks.
"We are planning a variety of marketing activities to get people to understand what we do and educate them on the issues associated with wireless security."
ASI director, Maree Lowe, said the timing was right for AirTight to launch its wireless security devices because of rapid wireless integration growth in the local market.
Lowe predicted the products would be suitable for a wide range of users from small business to large conglomerates.
