Fancy tuning into a sermon online? Or participating in a confidential conselling session without kneeling in the confessional box? Perth-based metrochurch (www.metrochurch.org.au) plans to bring God to the geeks with the launch of its new myinternetchurch.com website.
The site includes on-demand video streaming of preaching services, as well as a private chat room for community or individual meetings.
The online church's pastor, Bruce Grant, said visitors could also pick up the latest gospel CDs, or make secure online donations via the Internet.
Grant said the site would offer flexibility for people anywhere in all kinds of situations. "Churches have to move with the times and the Web service will be great for the broader community, including people who live in remote or regional locations and many others who work in areas where getting to a church is not always possible," he said.
