MYOB has moved into a new vertical with the introduction of RetailHospitality point-of-sale products. It was launched to resellers and end-users at last week's Sydney Retail Show.
Business manager, Spiro Vournazos, said it was a significant move for the software vendor because it targeted a specific vertical.
"It's available to our entire channel but we would also expect new opportunities with specialist hospitality resellers," he said. "We are always interested in new channel opportunities."
RetailHospitality was designed as a front-end solution that interfaced with MYOB's RetailManager sales solution.
Vournazos said it would be sold as a bundled offering aimed at cafes, bars, and restaurants, where speed of service was key.
"We have had conflicting figures about how big the market is but it is significant enough for us to move into this space," he said.
RetailHospitality's touch screen menu operation could also be configured to show icons for fast ordering and was particularly suitable for small stores with about 50 lines of stock, Vournazos said. It had originally been developed under the name of Positive Touch by Brisbane-based MYOB reseller, BizPro. MYOB had streamlined its menu system prior to launch, Vournazos said.
