Electronic commerce provider, eCorner, has been appointed as distributor for the Cloudmark anti-spam range.
The move fitted in with its strategy of building a product line-up around ecommerce services, managing director, John Debrincat, said.
It also ties into its plans to move away from a predominantly direct sales model, he said.
At present, resellers account for 20 per cent of eCorner sales.
A major step in this direction was taken last year when it established a four-tier channel program comprising of Implementation, Hosting, Technology and Reseller.
For the Cloudmark sales push, Debrincat said eCorner would look to recruit Reseller and Implementation partners. The product range was suitable for single-user systems, he said, but mid-market opportunities offered better margins and service opportunities.
Margins of 20 per cent and server configuration services would give the channel good revenues, he said, but Cloudmark also offered broader opportunities.
"Security and anti-fraud management are not just IT issues but more a problem for the security market in general because criminals are involved," Debrincat said.
