Specialist security distributor, WhiteGold Solutions, has opened a Melbourne office as part of a national expansion plan.
Former Comindico and LAN Systems staffer, Natalie Gilbert, has been appointed Victorian state manager. Offices are also planned for Queensland, SA and WA.
Managing director, Dominic Whitehand, said the news follows a bumper financial year which had seen revenues grow 300 per cent. Building a national presence would allow the company to continue this growth rate well into the next financial year, he said.
"We also have plans to grow our service capabilities," Whitehand said. "To do this we need strategic storage points so we can offer a rapid replacement service for mission-critical hardware units."
National expansion would also help it provide additional services, such as accreditation, which would improve its standing with enterprise partners, he said.
"We have always been very strong in SME but have been working closely with IBM, EDS and DiData for the past year," Whitehand said. A technical staffer would also be appointed in Victoria to help local partners, Whitehand said.
Discussions were now underway with vendors offering solutions around anti-spyware and peer-to-peer threat management, he said. WhiteGold hoped to attract another 50 partners.
