Jigsaw Technology has won a contract to supply J D Edwards software to Samoan government telco carrier, SamoaTel. It is the Sydney-based integrator's first overseas deal.
The $500,000 implementation of EnterpriseOne software was significant and would open up other business in the Pacific island region, Jigsaw CEO, Andrew McAdams, said.
"The cultural similarities between Samoa and other Pacific islands means there are good opportunities for us," he said.
Jigsaw had implemented the Financial Management, Human Capital Management and Asset Lifecycle Management modules of the software in eight weeks.
It manages more than a million payroll and costing transactions per year, previously handled across non-integrated legacy systems.
The second phase of the project would involve wireless deployment to allow users in the remote island group to employ functionality on PDAs, McAdams said.
The SQL server-based 50-user system would be maintained from its Sydney office as the Web-enabled EnterpriseOne software allowed remote support, McAdams said.
