Melbourne-based distributor, Region4, has opened its own office in New Zealand to help fuel growth across the Tasman.
Based in Auckland, it will offer resellers its usual array of printing, duplicating and publishing systems from a variety of vendors. The distributor is now hunting for a suitable country manager, who is expected to be in place by October.
Region4 previously operated in the country through sub-distributor, MediaPoint, which will continue its relationship with the distributor.
After running the Kiwi operation from Australia for nine years it was time for a local focus, according to company director, Timmi Hingston.
"It took some time to get our staff, infrastructure and new premises up and running following our split with Verbatim last year," she said. "But now our Australian business is growing very rapidly and it's time to help the New Zealand business do the same."
The office opening was timed to coincide with a road show in conjunction with DVD duplication and printing vendor partner, Primera.
"Primera is a good product to introduce to new resellers as it is not too high-end," Hingston said.
Region4 would look to recruit up to 50 new resellers to help its New Zealand business reach 15 per cent growth during the next two years, Hingston said.
