NETGEAR partners with service providers to deliver VoIP to the local market

<p>Sydney, Australia (25 July, 2005) – NETGEAR (Nasdaq: NTGR), a leading provider of easy-to-use, high-performance networking products, has partnered with three local voice-over-IP (VoIP) service providers to deliver a ready-to-use VoIP product to end-users.</p>
<p>NETGEAR has teamed up with Ace Communications Group, Broadband Phone and MyNetFoneTM to make it as simple as possible for customers to take advantage of VoIP services. The new NETGEAR wired two-port telephone router will now come bundled with the latest VoIP offerings from these providers, allowing end-users to easily make telephone calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analogue) phone line.</p>
<p>“We have chosen to partner with three different providers as they each deliver a unique VoIP service to the market, ensuring that our customers are able to select the best service to suit their individual requirements,” said Ryan Parker, NETGEAR’s Director of Partnerships and Services. “By providing customers with a superior VoIP product that can be configured in line with their existing network, we are making it possible for people with very little understanding of this technology to deploy and benefit from a converged voice and data solution.</p>

<p>The NETGEAR product bundled with these services is the TA612V Broadband Voice Adapter with Router and 2 Phone Ports (RRP: $179). By making calls using their broadband connection, the smart adaptor allows customers to save money on local and international phone calls and also benefit from a range of call features and services not usually available with traditional home phones, including voicemail, call waiting, caller ID and three-way conference calls. With support for prioritised voice traffic, the TA612V also delivers optimum Quality of Service (QoS) for all phone calls.</p>

<p>Customers that purchase the bundled NETGEAR product from Broadband Phone will receive 500 minutes of PSTN calls. Ace Communications customers will be able to get their VoIP service free of charge for one month and MyNetFone is offering customers $10 worth of free phone calls on a $0 per month plan.</p>
