Software distributor, Infotronics, has added system monitoring vendor, Lakeside Software, to its vendor ranks.
The move was seen as part of a continued push into the hosted services market, technical director, Phil Lancaster, said.
The exclusive distribution deal follows the ending of an OEM relationship between Lakeside and Citrix, which is understood to have developed its own in-house solution.
Lakeside's system monitoring software for Windows platforms, SysTrack, would add new functionality to Infotronics' current vendor line-up, Lancaster said. It would primarily be targeted at Citrix resellers alongside print optimisation technology from ThinPrint.
Managed service specialists and systems integrators working in the mid-market would benefit most from SysTrack functionality such as its Black Box Data Recorder, Lancaster said.
Reducing the effort required to identify system problems would be a major cost saving for managed service providers, he said. SysTrack could also offer billing information for companies to charge against.
"A differentiator of SysTrack is the granularity of detailed analysis, even down to motherboard configuration information," Lancaster said. The new product was officially launched at the Citrix iForum channel conference.
Roadshows were planned for capital cities during August, Lancaster said.
The events would primarily be educational with free introductory training provided and complementary not-for-resale copies of the SysTrack software made available to resellers.
