Picking a niche and sticking to it has paid off for Melbourne-based distributor, Region4.
Since recording revenue growth of 46 per cent last year, the printing, duplicating and publishing systems specialist has doubled staff numbers and moved to much larger premises.
It has also stepped up its activities around reseller education and training, setting out on a series of national and international roadshows promoting potential opportunities in the segment.
Managing the local Verbatim hardware business until last year, Region4 split with the consumables vendor to pursue its own growth strategy and hasn't looked back since, according to company director, Timmi Hingston.
Being known as a specialist had also allowed the company to sign exclusive deals with Rimage and Primera, as well as enabling it to invest in channel education, Hingston said.
"We aren't interested in selling monitors, PCs, hard drives or other hardware that you just can't make a buck on," she said. "These products are a little bit technical and we have been able to sow up the major vendors."
