Kaz has put the final touches on a new dedicated consulting division which it claims will provide vendor independent services.
Kaz Solutions Consulting (KSC) will offer outsourced expertise to customers and provide integrated ICT expertise. It was impossible to separate IT and communications when deploying solutions nowadays, director, Tom Compton, said.
The new division will have four practice areas - security, wireless, IP Transformation and project management - which will be overseen by dedicated practice leaders.
Unlike other Kaz divisions, which will continue to offer product-related consulting services, Compton said Kaz Solutions Consulting was vendor independent.
"We will offer customers an unbiased opinion on what technology they need," he said.
Delivering broad-based consulting advice will see KSC in competition with multinational industry heavyweights such as EDS and Accenture. But Compton insisted Kaz would retain a key differentiator.
"Unlike them we have an end-to-end capability from conception to mobilising staff with trucks and screw drivers," he said.
The next phase of development for the new division would involve extending the practice areas to include business intelligence, Compton said.
KSC currently employs 90 staff, pulled together through a combination of redeployments and external appointments during recent months.
