Canon has boosted its online digital imaging training resources following feedback from resellers.
The vendor has launched a new module around its DiG!C camera technology and has updated the module on its Pixma printing range. Both are accessible to registered resellers via Canon's online e-Learning Centre.
Canon's Consumer Imaging Products Group training manager, Heidi Newbery, said the increased focus on training was the result of reseller requests for more consistency.
"The modules now match DiG!C and Pixma advertising, contain greater explanation around the technology and are more interactive, so resellers can do things like sales scenario role-playing," she said.
Having both Pixma and DiG!C modules also meant resellers were now able to convey a complete story around digital imaging in the home, Newbery added.
"Customers prefer to purchase from resellers who know their products," she said. "Hopefully, training modules like these will help those resellers increase repeat business."
To further encourage resellers to complete the new training, Canon was also offering prizes including an IP4000 printer and an A520 digital still camera, Newbery said. While she would not be drawn on the content of future modules, she said a review of the current training would occur in the fourth quarter.
