After taking a well-earned six-month holiday, Paul O'Connor, Digital's former director of products and channels, resurfaced last week in his new role as manager, NSW Operations for burgeoning Queensland-based integrator Data#3.
Despite fielding several approaches from eager headhunters looking to snaffle the skills of an integral player in the massive Digital/Compaq merger, O'Connor opted for the familiar corporate culture of Data#3 and its latest acquisition, CICtechnology.
When contacted by ARN last week O'Connor said the Data#3 offer was too good to refuse.
"While I was at Digital we partnered with Data#3 and CICtechnology. Both organisations offer some impressive services to customers and partners, particularly in the areas of SAP implementation, remote network management and electronic trading," he said.
In his new role, O'Connor has been handed the dual responsibilities of expanding Data#3's opportunities in the lucrative NSW market while overseeing the merger of CICtechnology.
