Services giant, UXC, has moved further into data services market with the acquisition of Fieldforce Services.
The data services firm will join UXC’s Utility Services Group alongside meter and data services company, Skilltech Consulting Services.
The two organisations will be responsible for growing UXC presence in the metering and related data services as they provision and manage some 27 million meter reads annually.
Under the acquisition, Fieldforce and Skilltech would remain independent of each other, each providing their own service offering, capabilities, methodologies, customer value proposition and pricing parameters, UXC said.
UXC chairman, Geoff Lord, said the acquisition was consistent with the company’s strategy of purchasing businesses in segments of the market where it had already successful operations.
“The acquisition will give UXC’s Utility Services Group the substance and scale to be able to bring new and innovative technologies to play in this market sector, balanced with quality field services,” Lord said.
There will be no staff cut as a result of the acquisition and Fieldforce’s two owner/founders, Kim Cahill and Doug Rennie, will continue as directors.
Fieldforce would focus on growing its business in utility services, energy and water conservation, technology innovation, water, electrical and gas metering, billing, call centre services, data management, debt recovery, asset management and project management, UXC said.
