Business continuity and disaster recovery specialist, Classic Blue, has acquired Securix Australia for an undisclosed sum.
Formerly part of the ASX-listed Securix Corporation, acquired assets include 18 staff and a Canberra operations centre. Offices in Sydney and Melbourne will be closed and staff moved to Classic Blue's premises.
Securix was targeted because of its electronic intrusion detection expertise, Classic Blue managing director and CEO, Adrian Bogatez, said. Classic Blue wanted to widen its capabilities from physical disaster scenarios to specialist antivirus and IT security, he said.
The buyout also added significant government and corporate customers, Bogatez said. Classic Blue's core offerings are based around IT, telephony and desktop recovery solutions.
The new Canberra operation complemented Classic Blue's data centres in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
