Local application provider, Sterland Software, has reached an Asia-Pacific agreement to distribute the WinFast solution from Visual Legacy Group.
This interprets character-based applications and transforms them in real-time to a Web-oriented graphical interface.
Sterland Software sales and marketing executive, Michael Van Dartel, said the new deal would help expand its reseller base. Current partners included Adept Business Systems, IT Partners and BMIS.
The NSW-based ISV would also use WinFast to target developers working with its other core database product, Progress, Van Dartel said.
He said there were 20-50 ISVs using Progress character-based applications which would benefit from the front-end software.
Partners would be required to have experience in the Progress database across ERP verticals, Van Dartel said.
Sterland was also hoping to trigger further sales opportunities by working with the consultancy arms of multi-national service providers, he said.
