Firewall Systems has picked up a sole distribution deal with Resilience as part of plans to bundle the firewall and VPN appliances into its Check Point-based managed security services.
Marketing director, Nick Verykios, said the Resilience integrated high availability (iHA) hardware was the final piece in its managed services stack.
"It's the hardware, purpose-built platform we needed for the services offering," he said.
As well as extending out the value of the vendor's software, the Resilience products also provided high availability for failover, Verykios said.
"Other solutions with high availability mean that customers need to buy a second firewall," he said. "This is an unnecessary cost. The Resilience products push it across for us without that cost."
The new relationship with Firewall Systems follows Resilience's decision to cut ties with former exclusive distributor, Alstom IT, in April. At the time, director, Mark Gamon, told ARN the vendor needed a larger partner.
Verykios said resellers looking to build a Check Point security service using the Resilience products had been required to visit up to five suppliers to obtain the necessary parts.
He said its next step would be to expand the services offering into the high-end enterprise space.
"We want to do the same thing for multiple firewall sites - for example, resellers working with banks," he said.
The distributor is currently in talks with several additional vendors to help address this market.
