In a bid to crank up the heat in Queensland's SMB storage market, T Data has hatched a sales office and appointed a new state manager, Chris Beith.
Company director, John Buchanan, said he hoped the move would increase its storage business by 30 per cent.
"We are not looking to get rich overnight, but we're continuing to build a long-term business that satisfies our internal expectations and partners' goal," he said.
The Brisbane branch will house tape backup and tape drive products, along with additional business continuity and storage management solutions.
"There's big competition in Brisbane, and we want our share of the pie," Buchanan said. "We want to establish a significant presence in the market."
Main product categories include hardware from Tandberg Data, software from Bakbone and Yosemite Technologies, as well as serial connectivity products from
Digi International and database gear from Raining Data. The company also inked a recent distribution deal with storage management software provider, FalconStor.
Under the arrangement, T Data now distributes three products catering to small and large enterprises including the IpStor, iSCSI Storage Server for Windows
Storage Server 2003, and iSCSI Storage Server for Linux.
