ChannelWorx has moved its Sydney premises to a larger office in order to accommodate partner training. But its resellers needn't worry because the new location is literally across the street from its previous North Sydney base.
The networking and security distributor has already held Juniper and IronPort training at the 16-seat facility. It plans to run ongoing sessions for all of its vendor partners according to demand.
"It is getting harder in the value-added game to prove that you do things differently but this was something we could offer without much difficulty," ChannelWorx managing director, Scott Lidgett, said.
"It is available to all of our resellers and they can also use it to train their customers."
The distributor has also added two new staff to its Sydney team - a branch manager and a technical sales specialist.
At its Melbourne headquarters, Lidgett has also hired Paul Oxley as a commercial manager to sit between his marketing and sales teams. He has been charged with building revenues for all of the company's vendors.
"One of Paul's roles will be to explain the difference between our products and those of our competitors," Lidgett said. "Product managers know their own portfolios very well but maybe can't compare Juniper to Cisco or Trend Micro to Symantec."
