Spin Internet Services is looking for a number of travel management and car rental companies to take its iBurst wireless broadband rental channel to market.
The newly launched program provides users with 1GB of data capacity and downstream and upstream speeds of 1Mbps and 345kbps respectively, for $59.95 per week. The service runs on a week-by-week rental basis so users incur no contractual lock-ins or fees.
Spin Internet marketing manager, Bill McArthur, said the service was targeted at "road-warriors" who needed an Internet connection wherever they travelled. As such, he felt the service would complement travel agencies that specialised in corporate travel.
"It's a whole new niche market and opens up new sales avenues for travel companies," he said. "Our rental program will let travel companies add wireless broadband on top of hotel rooms and car rental."
McArthur said Spin was looking to partner with about five large travel management companies and one or two car rental franchises.
Spin was also devising a program that would let resellers co-brand the rental service, McArthur said. The ISP would be open to co-branding agreements and price structure negotiations and expected resellers to make 20-30 points on sales.
