CMS-Better Online Solutions has struck an alliance with Computergate Australia (CGA) to provide in-depth support and services for its range of VoIP products.
CMS director, Jenny Lane, said CGA had previously worked as a reseller of its BosCom hardware range. Under the new agreement, the company would become its services arm, providing installation and support to its stable of resellers in Australia and New Zealand.
"We were in need of good technical support and they had that," she said. "This agreement allows CMS to have technical support capabilities. It's providing a value-add to our existing products."
The two companies will move into joint premises in Mount Waverley, Victoria, on July 1. As part of the deal, current CGA managing director, Mario Grego, will become a director of CMS. While both companies would continue to operate separately, Lane said CGA would be its exclusive provider of support services.
CGA's Grego said the CMG support deal fitted well with its national support focus. The company provided similar services for vendors such as Tandberg, Exabyte, IBM and Optima.
Lane said CGA also boasted a Quality Assurance accreditation, allowing CMS to provide certified training to its reseller network.
As of July 1, all partners would be required to undergo certification, she said. This would involve a technical training course, along with annual refresher sessions.
"We will do the same with selling and have sales people trained in the features and benefits of the product," Lane said.
CMS has 12 partners in Australia, ranging from ISPs and wireless providers to networking consultants. Because CGA had been a significant reseller of its VoIP products, the company was now also on the hunt for additional partners across the country, Lane said.
Ideally, it was looking for five resellers in each state, she said. The company has a particular emphasis on NSW and Queensland.
