Red Agency responds to below-the-line trend with new services and expanded resources

 • 17 May, 2005 12:35

Boutique public relations specialist, Red Agency, has responded to a continued strong demand in both the Melbourne and Sydney markets by introducing new services and expanding its consultant base.

Red Agency has also relocated its Melbourne operations with a move into bigger CBD premises on Queen Street.

Commenting on the growth, Neil Travers, agency principal said, “We’re seeing an important trend in Australia away from a sole reliance on advertising, towards a more diversified marketing spend. With this shift, public relations is evolving beyond the boundaries of distributing media releases and securing interviews to a much more holistic and flexible service offering.

“Increasingly, marketers in a rapidly changing consumer marketplace are looking at below-the-line public relations to deliver cost-effective, sustained brand awareness. We’re seeing some clients focus their entire spend on below-the-line activities, and others who have never before undertaken public relations, start to spend in that area. Seeing the value PR delivers to their competitors, they don’t want to be left behind.”

Red Agency reports growth in both Sydney and Melbourne, through new client wins in the biotechnology, leisure and IT sectors, as well as across existing accounts. In the past six months, Red Agency has won accounts with Dynamic Hearing, TaylorDante, QSR International Software, and Toga Hospitality (owners of Medina, Vibe and Travelodge hotels).

In response to feedback from clients and market opportunities, Red Agency has also relaunched its media skills coaching service to equip organisations facing sustained media exposure. Experienced communicator Antoni Lee is spearheading the service, blending communication, consulting and coaching skills applicable across industries and sectors. Courses include one-on-one coaching, cross-industry sessions and in-house programs.

In addition to new services, Red Agency clients will also have access to more resources, with the appointment of new staff in Sydney and Melbourne. The agency has recently hired four new staff to ensure a consistently high level of servicing for existing and potential clients.

Travers continued, “The Red Agency team has been working hard to build a diversified portfolio. Our current client base is incredibly varied – including household technology brands, not-for-profits, FMCGs and the media. We’ve acquired a wealth of valuable media contacts and industry knowledge and are well placed to respond to the current shift in marketing communications spend.”
