NEC has introduced three new models in its VT series of portable projectors for the education, small business and small office/home office (SOHO) and home theatre markets. The VT47, VT470 and VT670 are updates to an existing models and, according to NEC, offer increased brightness, improved keystone correction, better security and an updated design. SVGA (800 x 600 native resolution) features on both the VT47 and VT470 projectors, with brightness of 1500 and 2000 ANSI lumens, respectively. The VT670 offers 1024 x 768 native resolution and 2100 ANSI lumens. Security features include password protection, the ability to lock cabinet buttons and a security cable slot to physically lock down projectors. NEC is also releasing the MT1075 installation projector which weighs 5.9kg, projects at 4200 ANSI lumens and is a companion to the MT1065 model. The VT47 and MT1075 are available from July and the VT470 and VT670 in August through Tech Pacific, Ingram Micro and Image Design Technology.
