• 10 May, 2005 09:27

Latest solution integration reduces time-to-recovery in Windows® environments and increases system and data protection capabilities

Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP) has announced certification completion of NetApp® storage systems for use with Symantec LiveState™ Recovery and Symantec LiveState™ Recovery Manager. The combined solutions proactively address system and data protection in Windows environments, as well as help customers meet regulatory compliance requirements by providing a strong, flexible and resilient infrastructure to mitigate threats to their critical systems and data.

When used in combination with NetApp SnapLock™ software, customers can cost-effectively lock down regulated data for months or years to help satisfy regulatory compliance requirements. Additionally, the data can be further protected by a wide range of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions including NetApp RAID-DP™ and NetApp SnapMirror® replication software.

Windows customers require reliable data protection and rapid system recovery to meet increasingly stringent compliance requirements and achieve higher data availability. For added information integrity, Symantec LiveState Recovery offers a unique capability to help organisations by ensuring that they have an exact point-in-time copy of their systems and data to quickly recover in case of disaster caused by a security-related event, corruption or software/hardware failure.

“Customers today need proactive solutions for their expanding Windows system and data protection objectives to address business risk,” said Dieter Giesbrecht, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Administration at Symantec. “Symantec and NetApp solutions address critical issues of performance, manageability and reliability, resulting in comprehensive Windows system and data integrity.”

“The combination of Symantec information availability solutions with our innovative storage systems and software provides customers with simple, intuitive solutions for protection and recovery of their business-critical data,” said Patrick Rogers, Vice President, Products and Partners at Network Appliance. “Certification for Symantec’s solutions means customers have more dependable backup and restore protection for their Windows environments.”
