BEA looks to boost local integrator ties

BEA has appointed a new A/NZ channel account executive to boost ties with local integrators and ISVs.

Karen Cook, who has 15 years' sales experience, will take on the role following stints as an account executive for IBM Software and Attachmate Australia.

BEA A/NZ managing director, Laurence Cole, said the channel contributed a significant amount to BEA's local business but further opportunities remained to be captured.

"In 2005, we are making a concerted effort to develop stronger relationships with local system integrators and grow channel business across the region," he said. "Karen will be instrumental to BEA achieving this."

For Cook, the new role would be all about nurturing and growing relationships.

"This year we will broaden our partner education offering to cover all aspects of the BEA WebLogic Platform," she said. "We are also working more closely with our partners to run joint marketing events."

The majority of these events featured partner solutions built on the WebLogic Platform, Cook said.
