Sydney, Australia (April 20, 2005) – NETGEAR (Nasdaq: NTGR), a leading provider of easy-to-use, high-performance networking equipment, has unveiled its latest home and business networking solutions, growing its current range and introducing new lines to its product portfolio.

“NETGEAR’s ability to continually develop innovative product ranges and be first to market with leading edge-technologies is what allows us to maintain our position as an industry leader,” said Ian McLean, NETGEAR’s Asia-Pacific Vice President. “With this in mind, we have introduced several new lines to our home networking range, with our RangeMax family of Smart MIMO products and our residential VoIP gear, and expanded the scope of our business class solutions to provide our customers with exactly what they want, ahead of market trends.”

NETGEAR has announced its first-ever range of Voice over IP (VoIP) products, delivering convergent voice services to the home networking environment. The NETGEAR WGR615V 54 Mbps Wireless Router with Phone Adaptor and the TA612V Broadband Voice Adapter with Router, allow customers to easily take advantage of local VoIP services, saving money on telephone calls and benefiting from a range of call features and services not usually available with traditional home phones.

Another new line that NETGEAR has added to its home networking suite is RangeMax, which is designed to give users the longest range and speeds of any wireless device on the market. The RangeMax products - including the RangeMax Wireless Router (WPN824), RangeMax Wireless PC Card (WPN511), RangeMax Wireless PCI Adapter (WPN311) and RangeMax Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (WPN111) – use seven Smart MIMO (Multi-In, Multi-Out) antennas to deliver 127 unique antenna patterns that adapt ‘on the fly’ to the network environment by adjusting to RF interference, locations of clients and physical barriers, resulting in extraordinary range and consistent high-speed data transfer performance throughout the home.

“Catering to the needs of our corporate customers, we have further extended our popular range of business-class products to include new features and capabilities that allow companies to optimise their networks for maximum productivity,” said McLean.

“Furthermore, our business customers can rest assured that these products are backed by a complete service and support program that has been adapted to suit the specific requirements of this sector.”

Expanding its range of enterprise-class security solutions, NETGEAR has released the FVX538 ProSafe VPN Firewall 200 and FVS338 ProSafe VPN Firewall 50 Router, which provide small-to-medium sized businesses with fast, secure virtual private network (VPN) access to remote workers and branch offices. The standards-based, rack-mountable FVX538 firewall supports up to 200 simultaneous VPN tunnels, featuring a high performance CPU and security co-processor for maximum firewall and VPN throughput. The FVS338 supports up to 50 simultaneous IPSec-based VPN tunnels, featuring a built-in serial port for dial-up access and autofailover.

NETGEAR has also unveiled its latest business-class access point to feature its new AutoCell technology. The WAG302 ProSafe Dual Band Access Point uses the RF management features of AutoCell to maximise WLAN performance in high-density, high interference deployments. The WAG302 automatically adjusts signal levels, selecting channels and balancing the load among all access points to avoid interference and ensure total network coverage.

Further tailoring its product line to suit the needs of its enterprise customers, NETGEAR has released the GSM7212 ProSafe Gigabit Switch which allows businesses to move up to gigabit power in minutes - benefiting from improved uptime, availability, bandwidth and throughput. With a non-blocking design offering full Gigabit throughput simultaneously to all twelve 10/100/1000 Mbps ports and an extensive range of Layer 2 management capabilities, the GSM7212 provides network administrators with all the tools they need to configure their network for maximum performance.
