ASI Solutions is to distribute unauthorised usage products from wireless security vendor, AirTight Networks.
Demand for the range of hardware and software is being fuelled by the mobility boom, according to ASI director, Maree Lowe.
"It's the next level of security to cover wireless vulnerabilities such as Denial of Service attacks", she said.
The AirTight SpectraGuard software would complement its other wireless offerings, Lowe said. ASI plans to start offering free half-day training sessions for resellers in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra during the next month.
The product offered good service opportunities such as site audits for installation, training and maintenance, Lowe said. Systems integrators focused on education, health and SMB were of particular interest to ASI.
AirTight was introduced to ASI by channel consultancy, the Proficio Group.
It plans to recruit 20 partners in total, according to business development manager, Peter Davison.
Data convergence technologies like VoIP and Intel's Centrino were creating a demand for the new security layer of wireless firewalls, he said.
A recruitment roadshow will visit NSW in June, Victoria in July and Queensland in August.
"We are aiming for SIs active in the data and networking market, and not so much in wireless, because some high-end corporations may not have a wireless policy or banned wireless," Davison said.
