Kyocera Mita Australia has released a departmental colour A4/A3 laser printer designed for workgroup colour printing applications. The FS-C8026N printer offers a construction method that separates the drums and other mechanical items from the toner containers, according to the company. The ceramic drums in the FS-C8026N have a life of over 300,000 pages and are not changed along with the toner containers. It offers both A4 and A3 printing in mono or colour. Printing speed is the same in mono and colour at 26PPM (A4) and the first page is delivered in nine seconds. The printer also comes with FastEthernet and parallel ports and multiple interfaces (PCL, Postscript, HP-GL and PDF Direct). All of the interfaces can be used simultaneously, each with a separate virtual printer. Administration of the FS-C8026N is via Kyocera's universal KX driver. This driver allows the printer to be managed from any workstation on the network. The nominated administrator receives email notifications for low toner and low paper. The product is distributed in Australia by Tech Pacific, Alloys International, BMS, Compu, Dynamic Supplies, Ingram Micro, IT Wholesale, JMD, Phoenix Toner, and Tecksel. RRP: $8248.90.

The Lexmark C760, C762 and X762e multifunction product (MFP) are workgroup devices which offer boosted performance, print quality and flexibility. The high-yield 15,000 page toner cartridges reduce costly interventions and offer a monochrome cost of printing that is equal to today's workgroup monochrome lasers, the company said. The products feature single-pass technology and can print up to 24 pages per minute (ppm) in both monochrome and colour. A 600 MHz controller quickly processes large and complex colour applications. At the heart of these new products is 4800 CQ resolution, Lexmark technology that automatically adjusts dot size and shape simultaneously. RRP: The list prices of the C762 (in its 3 standard configurations are): C762 (base model, non-network) - $4180.00; C762n (network ready) - $4389.00; and C762dn (duplex, network ready) - $4987.40.
Featuring wrap transfer technology and aimed at small business and workgroup printing, Epson Australia is pitching the AcuLaser C1100 colour laser printer. The technology enables the printer to more accurately transfer toner to paper resulting in clear, sharp text and vibrant images. Printing at speeds of up to 25ppm (pages per minute) in monochrome and 5ppm in colour, the AcuLaser C1100 is ideal for high volume printing. The C1100 has a resolution of 2400dpi using Resolution Improvement Technology and features AcuBrite toners which feature smaller (5.8 microns), more uniform particles allowing for reproduction of fine detail. The wax in AcuBrite toners is distributed in fine particles within the toner pigments. When the toner is fused, the pigment and wax are distributed with micro-order uniformity ensuring superior image quality. AcuBrite toners feature a special resin that easily melts during toner fusion, giving a glossiness that is ideal for high quality image documents. The AcuLaser C1100 is fully compatible with both Windows and Mac. The product is distributed in Australia by Dicker Data, BMS, Compu Wholesale, Cellnet, Alloys, Hitech, Synnex, DMA and Tech Pacific. RRP: $899.
