Volante has announced current Citec managing director, Mark Rainbird, will take up its newly created role of director of services.
In a statement, Volante group managing director, Ian Penman, said the decision to hire Rainbird was based on driving sales and performance across its services business.
"Mark's record of introducing rigour, innovation and high levels of energy to businesses will be a great asset to Volante as we continue to build our services organisation," he said.
The newly devised role is also part of a general strengthening of Volante's senior management team.
Rainbird will start with the IT services company on May 23. He will relocate from Queensland to Sydney.
Prior to his three-year tenure at Citec, Rainbird's resume includes a role as director of mining with Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, and senior management roles with Mincom, Total Energy Systems and Comalco.
His appointment is the latest of several significant changes at Volante during the past 12 months. In July, former group CEO, Allan Brackin, announced he would resign from the position after four years with the company. He was replaced by Penman on November 1. Volante also appointed former Mirvac group general manager of finance, Stephen Rorie, as chief financial officer, last month.
