Plumtree Software Introduces Analytics Server For Real-Time Portal Activity Monitoring

~ New Server Product Demonstrates Plumtree’s Continued Market Innovation and Leadership and Helps Customers Achieve Increased ROI on Sophisticated Portal Deployments ~

SYDNEY, Australia, March 30, 2005 -- Plumtree Software (Nasdaq: PLUM) today announced the general availability of Plumtree Analytics Server, a new product that delivers real-time reporting on portal activity and content usage. As portal deployments become more sophisticated and complex, portal administrators and community owners can use Analytics Server to effectively assess how portal applications and information are being used across the enterprise. By tracking community traffic, portlet traffic, response times and usage behavior, companies gain improved visibility for their portal development and deployment planning, and can more effectively prioritize administrative resources. As a result, Plumtree customers can increase portal ROI, reduce infrastructure costs and improve employee, customer and partner satisfaction.

Customers using Analytics Server benefit from more complete integration with the portal and easier installation at a lower price point than other Web analytic products. Traditional Web Analytics software tends to aggregate information about application server behavior from batched, historical log files. Analytics Server, in comparison, takes a different approach, using lightweight, plug-in filters at multiple tiers of the portal architecture to report information to the Analytics Server database in real-time resulting in deeper, more accurate and instant system activity information.

“An analytics tool for monitoring portal activity can help organizations maximize the return on investment in their portal,” said Ray Valdes, research director at Gartner. “Successful portal deployments have as much to do with human behavior and business processes as with technology. In the past, managers of the enterprise portal have lacked industrial-strength tools that help them determine what is preventing people from using portal applications effectively, what characteristics from popular collaboration communities can be propagated to all portal communities, how effectively people are collaborating together, and finally how infrastructure is supporting the needs of its users.”

Plumtree Analytics Server tracks metrics for Plumtree portals running on Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, BEA WebLogic and IBM WebSphere application servers. It is also available on Windows and Solaris, supports SQL Server and Oracle databases, and integrates with the Plumtree Corporate Portal. Product features include:

 Metrics Reporting – community traffic, portlet use traffic, document traffic, collaboration server traffic, searched keywords and user turnover

 User Behavior and Performance Analysis – logins, usage duration and community response time

 Grouping and Filtering - group by guest, time period and profile data, and filter by date range, object, top values, bottom values and user profile attribute

 Multi-Dimensional Usage Correlation – department, office, region, user type and any other user-defined profile attribute

 Flexible Presentation Formats – tables, pie charts, line charts, bar charts and tab-delimited export

 Support for rapid deployment to multiple user audiences - out-of-the-box usage analysis community for administrators and portlet templates for community metrics reporting

“Plumtree continues to lead and innovate with the introduction of Analytics Server, demonstrating our understanding about the practicalities and process of successful deployments,” said Adam Walters, Regional Manager, Asia Pacific, Alliances at Plumtree Software. “Mature portal deployments bring additional complexities. As a result, we designed Analytics Server to help our customers understand usage patterns for better design, management, and investment planning of their portal pages, Web workspaces and applications.”
