Storability Software will rollout a new reseller program this month in a bid to move away from its previously direct-only sales model.
The US-based enterprise storage vendor was acquired by StorageTek in October last year.
Its Certified Reseller Program would officially launch its software products into the local market, StorageTek channels manager, Sam Srinivasan said.
Prior to the acquisition, Storability's flagship software - Global Storage Manager - was bundled with StorageTek's tape library hardware, he said.
Currently, only a couple of Australian customer sites use the product.
The new program is a single level initiative comprising of pre-sales, implementation and post-implementation training.
The initial sales parts were free but the rest of the program would be charged at cost only, Srinivasan said.
It will initially be promoted to StorageTek's 20 resellers followed by targeted new niche market partners, he said. These would include system management specialists and managed service providers.
All software purchases would be carried out through the vendor's two main distributors, ACA Pacific and Datastor.
Alongside its enterprise software, Storability recently introduced a Lite version of the product targeting SMEs. As part of its latest channel promotion, evaluation copies of the Lite version would be given to key customers. This would include a rebate program for upgrades to the Enterprise version, Srinivasan said.
