WebEx is to continue its move into the enterprise space with the launch of its new Business Suite.
The online conferencing software vendor has launched a combination of marketing, sales, support and e-learning tools to add to its existing SMB-targeted Online Meetings product.
The release was designed to boost the company beyond its traditional customer base, managing director, Kevin Mackin, said.
"We have been particularly successful in the SMB space but this new suite is growing us into the enterprise," he said.
Similarly, the potential market available to the channel would also significantly broaden, Mackin said.
"Partners such as Telstra, MCI and Planwell who have used Online Meetings as an adjunct to their conferencing businesses can now move into e-learning, Web seminars and online technical support," he said.
In its efforts to make greater inroads into the enterprise space, WebEx would train up the skill-sets of its existing partner base rather than take on new, enterprise-specific partners, Mackin said.
The company would also look to adopt a different go-to-market strategy.
"We will be partnering with other learning management providers for their expertise and to bundle our products for a full offering," he said.
"Enterprises need that expertise and breadth of offering, and we will benefit as large corporates would not normally look at WebEx on its own."
The company has doubled its staff in the last six months to include sales, engineering and customer service support.
