HP's ProCurve networking division is looking for two more elite partners as it builds its LAN switching devices channel.
Recently-appointed country manager, Gurkirat Singh, said he had been working on establishing ProCurve for about 10 months, originally as its channel manager.
He hopes to announce his successor in the very near future.
Singh said ProCurve had two distributors – Tech Pacific and Ingram Micro – plus two tiers of resellers.
Volante, Commander and Leading Solutions were classified as elite partners because they had expertise in network implementation. They buy direct from HP.
Other resellers of the products offer varying levels of support and are helped by two business managers that HP has funded, one working for each of the distributors.
Singh said he was happy with the channel, but would like to add two more elite partners during the next few weeks. He also plans to increase focus on training resellers.
Potential elite partners must be experts in configuring and implementing networks, with at least five offices across Australia and at least one qualified pre-sales person and a technical sales person in each office.
In return, HP would help with training and marketing support, and give access to specialists when needed, he said.
